We spent a very cold winter in Alberta.
The motorhome was stuck at our friends Diana and Les’s acreage. The cold weather set in for six weeks, it was -30 to 40 Celsius each day. Thankfully Di and Les were most gracious.
When spring arrived, Di was back out riding her horses. She lives for her animals.
Annie isn’t far away from any activity.
Good old Charlie is always playful, Di keeps her pups fit and in shape. The love that she has is amazing, and impressive.
Les giving Ed a lesson on how to fly the drone.
While in Alberta I met up with friends from the Baja Caravan from 2014 at Virginia and Johns home in Olds. Kathy and her son Hance put on a wonderful lunch. It was great to see them after several years. Hance, Ross, Kathy, Virginia and Carmen.
John and Virginia. Lovely people.
With winter behind us, we headed to BC.
We spent time in Fairmont Hot Springs, BC at Jen and Dustin’s cabin. Jen and Dustin assembling the big toy for William.
Project completed.
William showing daddy how to throw rocks.
Ed and I travelled and visited many lakes and communities while in BC. This is Summit Lake.
Nakusp, BC, Slocan Lake. We enjoy camping on the water.
Summit Lake.
While in Nakusp, we visited the Japanese Internment Camp from WWII. It is a beautiful monument.
The grounds and buildings were well kept, I believe by the volunteers.
Some of their clothing and footwear.
The kitchen.
Each building told a story of hardship and survival.
While in Nakusp, we were fortunate to visit the garlic festival. I was unaware that there were so many varieties of garlic. This was my first experience with fresh garlic from the garden. It’s night and day from store bought.
Enjoying a peaceful fire on the Kettle River, Rock Creek, BC.
