Huahine

July 14th we arrived at Huahine at 8:30 am.  Dan and Jilly came over for anchor beer.  That is what we do after the anchor is set, no matter how long the sail.

That evening, we went to the Yacht Club.  Happy Dan.

Time for a walk about in the town.  It was a cute town, quite a few local vendors, selling coconut milk to vanilla.

Many boats anchored.  Some places were tricky.  We did have a catamaran drag in the middle of the night, they came very close to hitting us.  Ed had to wake them up with the air horn.

Ed and I were fortunate to have front row seats watching the outrigger race.

This was our entertainment for the afternoon.

We were anchored next to the race route, this race is a serious event for Heiva.

Like I said, a great front row seat.

Dan and Jilly left, it was sad to say goodbye.  They were making their way to Fiji, then on to New Zealand.  We plan to store our boat at Raiatea for cyclone season.  We rented bikes with fellow boaters to tour the island.  We had an enjoyable afternoon.
